ABOUT ME

Statistician, data analyst, independent researcher

I have been working as statistician and data analyst for many years and in different fields. I have experience in analysing medical and epidemiological data, labour market and social surveys, time use and environmental data.

I like exploring the data with an open mind and let their stories emerge. I also prefer working on projects with a potential for positive social impact.

I am mostly based in Durban, South Africa but spend a lot of time in Europe, working with collaborators and visiting family.

Survey design, data cleaning and exploration, model building and evaluation, data analysis, report writing.

Analysis of large complex datasets stemming from but not limited to health, demography, labour market, environment, time use.

Competency in several statistical packages as well as survey design tools.

Implementation of machine learning and neural network applications.

Evidence-based policy support, policy report and academic article writing.

Coordination and teaching of statistical courses and software, quantitative skills workshops and seminars.
